The country of Buddha is said to lie to the west of Mt Bà. It is also called the Western Land of Perfect Bliss (Tây Phương cực lạc). There people receive the direct teaching of the Amitabha-Buddha and the Bodhisattavas Mahasthana and Quan Âm. According to the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism, the faithful who repeat the name Amitabha can be born again in the Western Promised Land.
