FULL ITINERARY
Begin your Vung Tau beach trip with a visit to Long Tan and Nui Dat Old Battlefields after being picked up at Phu My Port by Viet Vision Travel’s tour guide and driver. The former Nui Dat Task Force Base (Nui Dat SS Hill), where only two pillars of the main gain remain, is where you make your first stop of the day. A long village road has replaced the previous runway, and the former helipad is now a soccer field.
You will next go to Nui Dat Kindergarten. This kindergarten is presently located on the site where more than 5000 Australian soldiers were stationed at any given time during the Vietnam War. It was opened in October 2010 and is supported by the Australian Vietnam Volunteers Resource Group.
After that, you’ll be driven by the location of the Horseshoe, where access is restricted due to mining operations, as you make your way to the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation. Continue to Long Tan Cross Memorial, Long Phuoc Tunnels, Minh Dam (which is no longer the “Secret Zone”), and Long Hai after lunch.
