Village Elders' Chapel

A chapel where village elders were worshipped after their death. As with village altars, “thọ chỉ” was anopen-airr structure, while a “thọ từ” was roofed.

Villages would allocate one communal rice field to cover the costs connected with this worship, and the elders would choose one amongst themselves to till the land.
