Song Temple Festival
The temple lies on Song mountain (Bim Son, Thanh Hoa). It is dedicated to the Goddess Lieu Hanh (Ba Chua Lieu) and three warrior genies, Ta Quan Thanh Nhat Quang, Huu Quan Thanh Nguyet Quang and Tien Quan Thanh Ngoc Su. Its congregation practises the popular Vietnamese cult. There are solemn ceremonies, a procession for Mother Saint Lieu Hanh of women only, and popular entertainment: classical theatre tuong and cheo, alternating songs (hat trong quan), songs of a strolling blind musician (hat sam).a literary song ca tru, traditional wrestling, human chess and cock fighting. The focus of the festival is comprised of mediumistic practices with songs and esoteric dances.
