The 2-day stop in Halong is applied by most of the cruise ships coming to Vietnam and this 2-day itinerary consists of a three-hour cruise in Halong Bay with a visit to one of the most amazing caves in Halong plus an overnight stay in a luxury hotel in Hanoi. The next day of the itinerary will be devoted to the elegant Hanoi capital and its must-see sites before driving back the port for your cruising. FULL ITINERARY
Day 1: Halong International Cruise Port Arrival – Halong Bay Cruise (3-4 hours) – Hanoi
Upon your arrival at Halong International Cruise Port at around noon (or early afternoon), our guide is waiting for you with a welcome board. Get in the car and drive to Bai Chay Pier and check in on board! Here move to our private junk for cruising and visiting the Bay in about 3-hours (or 4 hours if time permits).
Visit Heaven Cave, one of the most famous grottos in Halong Bay. Then continue to cruise through Halong Bay and pass by numerous beautiful islets: Dog, Incense, Fighting Cock… The boat continues to cruise on the Bay till going back to Bai Chay pier and you will be picked up by our own vehicle to drive to Hanoi (3.5 hours) for overnight accommodation.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Halong International Cruise Port Departure (B, L)
Today, venture out to explore Hanoi. Firstly, visit the Temple of Literature, which was originally built as a temple to Confucius. We will then visit Hoa Lo Prison Museum. Hoa Lo is also known as the ''Hanoi Hilton'' and was where former US presidential candidate John McCain was incarcerated for over 5 years. After that, drive to the amazing Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic minority peoples.
After lunch in the city center, visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple before enjoying a 1-hour cyclo tour of the French-inspired "old quarter'. You will be free for shopping in the old quarter ranges from markets through to designer boutique stores to amazing contemporary art galleries. If time permits, sit down to enjoy the performance of the city's famous Water Puppet. At around 4 PM, drive back to Halong International Cruise Port with plenty of time to connect your departure cruising. Trip ends. Thanks for joining Vietnam shore excursion with us!
