Previously, the Tourism Association and Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to consider extending the visa exemption from one to five years and increase the number of stay days from 15 to 30 days.

This is the second time the visa exemption policy for citizens of five Western European countries was renewed since it was first piloted from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 and then extended for one more year to June 30, 2017.
