What is the Vietnam International Tour Operator Licenses? How to get the International tour Operator license?
When search on internet, travelers will find thousand of Vietnam tour operator or Vietnam Travel Company. And the difficulties for them to find out who is the most reliable one?
Here is our suggestion:

- Ask them if they are member of Vietnam Administration of Vietnam or not first. Ask them to show you the license - There are two kinds of Tour operators in Vietnam: Domestic Vietnam Tour Operator and International Vietnam tour Operator. The Domestic one is specialized in organizing travel services for local Vietnamese and they need to deposit the amount of 50 million Vietnamese Dong (about 3 thousand US$) at the bank appointed bank account. The International tour operator is specialized in organizing travel services for foreigners (any countries) and they have higher responsible in that. They need to get International Tour Operator License - Ask the company you intend to book tour with if they have international tour operator license that issued by Vietnam Tourism. Because in order to get that license that have to show their finance ability strong enough to be International Tour Operator. Normally travel companies need to deposit the amount of 250 million Vietnamese Dong (About 18 thousand US$) in the bank account and not allow using that amount for any reason. If they don’t provide what they commit to their clients for travel services and Vietnam tourism will use that amount to compensate for their clients. - In order to get the International Tour Operator license the company also has to show their human resources strong enough by showing that they must be experience in travel industry. - And they have to be responsible for their tour qualities and have to inform Vietnam Tourism regularly about their tours and well as their tour guides...

Now there are many “Virtual Internet Company” or IT (information Technology Company) offers tours in Vietnam. They off course have no license to be The International Tour Operator and they have no right to operate tours in Vietnam or provide travel services. But a lot of them still offers travel services and don’t deposit that amount, they don’t have to pay for their staffs and what they are doing now in Vietnam is copy travel program from a professional one and promote on their web site/s, selling with cheap prices and have no guarantee for qualities or services. Please be advised that you should choose a fully licensed International tour operator.

There are many cafes and mini hotels in some tourist attractions in Vietnam like: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue... They all try to sell you tours and travel service with very cheap prices. Please be aware of that as cheap some time does not mean good. You will get what you pay for and there is no guarantee for services. The popular name for those cafes would be: Sinh Cafes (thousand of them in Hanoi), Kim cafes...And event for us, it is hardly to understand why a cafe would offer tours and travel service? They should be a fully licensed travel company, a tour opertor or a travel agency.
